Gerardo Mari, regarding education, is a visiting professor at design and creativity institutions worldwide.
Based on his long-lasting experience as a designer and on his work developing products for design companies, he has developed a highly effective teaching method in which students learn a wide range of creativity tools and are guided through the complete design process from the initial idea to the final product, considering technology and production, with a strong focus on quality, detail, and design.
Workshops
He has developed a workshop method focused on teaching design technologies. Materials and production processes are presented as sources of inspiration for new projects, and students are guided in their use through his professional know-how, built on years of experience. This approach draws on a wide range of techniques applied to metals, plastics, wood, stone, and other materials, developed through the projects he has worked on.
In the workshops, he teaches both theory and its practical application, enabling students to apply their knowledge directly to their own projects.
As a result, students are prepared to handle real projects as they would in design companies, gaining a full understanding of the process while meeting professional standards and requirements.
Gerardo Mari has worked with the following design schools:
IUAV Università Iuav di Venezia - Venice - Italy
SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design - Milano - Italy
IED Istituto Europeo di Design Madrid - Madrid - Spain
UCSF Universidad Católica de Santa Fe - Santa Fe - Argentina
